So I'm camping with my family yesterday, surfing the web using the wireless provided by the park service, when I find THIS email message from YouTube:
Your video, Fall Open House and Plant Sale - Kanapaha Botanical Gardens - Gainesville, Florida , may include content that is owned or licensed by these content owners:
- Content owner: GoDigital Media Group Type: Audio content
The email goes on to say there's nothing I need to do about this (except perhaps breathe into a paper bag!!! WTF???), but now I've got a "Content Matches" dealio tag next to my video.
The "audio content" referred to by said "You Be in Big Trouble" email consisted of music tracks that came with my iMovie software. I'm googling "iMovie music fair use" and such but my eyeballs are bouncing around in panic so much that I'm not really finding anything.
So, question to all you smart techy people: when I purchased iMovie, didn't I purchase the right to use the music tracks they provided on the software as part of the movies I post??? How do I find out? And how do I get back on the right side of the law to make that message go away?
