Gainesville Life

Day 2 of the Real Estate Game, and I've already got my 1st listing appointment!

I just signed up to play the Real Estate Game, a month-long group coaching class that focuses on doing income-producing activities each day.

Now, you may be saying to yourself, "Well, DUH. Why do you need a coach to tell you that?"

Look, I don't know about the rest of you, but I am the Queen of Procrastination when it comes to prospecting.  Just the thought of contacting folks to drum up business, even if I know them....well, it makes my palms sweat.

I mean, I don't want to be RUDE or anything. (Well, okay, I AM pretty rude, but usually just in party situations when I'm drinking someone else's liquor).

Most of the business I've generated so far this year is directly the result of LeadRouter. But waiting for customers to fall into my lap isn't exactly a business plan, so I decided it was time to put my big girl panties on and start prospecting.

Knowing my penchant for procrastination, I knew darn well I wasn't going to be very effective at doing this without a nudge and a certain amount of financial discomfort.

Though when you think about it $149 for a 4 week coaching session isn't exactly spendy.

Anyway. Yesterday was my first payment class.  We have various activities/challenges to do each day, and each day we have to hit a certain number of points.  Looking over the list, I figured to myself, well geez, this is gonna take no time at all.

Kind of like labor.

But the GOOD kind of labor! The kind of labor where the epidural works!

So I hit my points, checked in for today's phone conference, got jazzed hearing about everyone's first day, then hit the salt mines again.

And here's something totally COOL:  If you get out there, and meet people, and call people (like expireds, or your sphere, or whatever), and keep doing that, the momentum keeps growing and BAM! The next thing you know you're taking new listings!

OK. So I don't have the listing yet (my goal is to have at least 3 by the end of the month)....but I DO have a listing APPOINTMENT.  And you know how I got it?  Calling an expired listing....and she didn't snarl or anything!

And this is only Day 2!  How cool is THAT!!!??

Anyway.....the Real Estate Game has definitely broken me out of my comfort zone, which, from what I can tell so far, is a really GOOD thing!
